LIFE Group Leaders, here are two things I want you to think about regarding the new Winter Term 2014 LIFE U classes:
1. Do I want the people I lead to become disciplemakers?
2. Do I need to get better at leading these people so they become disciplemakers?
I know none of you would answer “NO” to these questions. So, if your answer is “YES,” what does that affirmation mean to you? Is it simply a hollow agreement, or do you want to back it up with substantive action?
I believe each of you want to be “doers” and not just “hearers” and “sayers.” So here are some “I WILL” statements to go along with your “YES” statements:
1. I WILL ask my LIFE Group members to attend one of these courses: Christianity Explored, Discipleship Explored, Talking about Christ, or the World of Jesus. These will directly help them learn to become disciples and disciplemakers.
2. I WILL attend the Biblical Soul Care course. This will directly help you become a better shepherd and disciplemaker.
Jesus said, “We must work the works of Him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.” (John 9:4) We know what our calling is. It is to reach the lost and make them into disciples who make disciples. The time to do this is running short. Night will fall.
What excuses do we really have then for not focusing all of our energies on disciplemaking and becoming more equipped at this central work of Christ’s mission (Matthew 28:19-20)? I want to help you do what God has called you to do. Please let me know what obstacles are in your way to attending one of these classes and asking your people to attend them. I want to do whatever I can to help you overcome these obstacles.
Devoted to helping you hear your Master say to you one Day: “Well done, good and faithful servant!”:
